I installed the Plex Server directly on the Shield for a buddy with a hard drive on the back, that works too.Ģ issues, when I launch the Plex app on his iPad, the server is not found because there is no secure connection, when I set everything up at home I was able to log in with the Plex app and its data and had these issues not, now that the Shield is at his house, he has the problem from the iPad, does anyone have an idea what setting he needs to make to make it work? Plex is already looking for all videos, photos and music files on the Shield TV and makes them available via the server. Tadaaaaaa, that's it - well, at least all basic steps are completed :). So click on “Next” and give the media center access rights so that it can work properly. Since Nvidia keeps the Shield TV up to date and it therefore runs on Android 6.0.1 aka “Marshmallow”, your Plex Media Server must now allow access to the memory. So click on “Next” (or deactivate the function, as you see fit ) ). Among other things, you can use it to access the videos that you have created with the Shield TV's recording function. As a rule, there is little to be said against it. In the next step, Plex will ask you if you want to set up the default Android media libraries. Alternatively, you can do this later on the Plex home page by opening the “Plex Media Server Configuration” link. Check “Enable Plex Media Server” and click Next.
When logging in for the first time after updating the Shield TV, Plex reports that a server is now available.
